Taken somewhere over the Midwest, by my wife while flying to Las Vegas, the photograph just won first place in this year’s Burlington County fair. I call the photo ‘Nature’s UFO’ because of the way the cloud formation looks like rising from the clouds below. Eva used her Canon PowerShot ELPH 12-megapixel and had it handy when she spotted the usual cloud formation while looking out the window the plane.

Desert Sculpture

Here is a example of nature’s power and artistic ability. This is the sun bleached, wind & sand blasted remains of a Bristle Cone Pine tree up an the slope of Mt. Charleston, Nevada.  I spotted this natural sculpture when my wife and I stopped while drive on the Mt. Charleston Scenic Drive to look out over the desert below and I spotted this  on the slope just above where I had parked the car.

June 20, 2012
Island Beach State Park, NJ

Summer starts today and what timing, the first 90 degree day arrived. Here at the Jersey shore, the air temp was in the 90’s, the water temp was around 69 with sunny skies and warm breezes from the south. Here is a couple starting summer off the right way, cooling off naturally literally at the ocean’s edge. Now, that’s the way to start the summer.

New Jersey is the most urbanized state in the US but wildlife can be found everywhere. Here are a bunch of turtles sunning themselves in a pond located in the middle of a apartment complex near Camden NJ.

This is a photo of a stand the woods near the Assiscunk Creek in Burlington Twp. The woods caught my attention while out for a walk because of the way to low early morning spring light hit the trees and they appear to shine.
